This is a knit wrap pattern that features three distinct stitches that come to us from Japan. All are interesting and fun to knit. One is a distinct cable-lace stitch, one is a cluster stitch and the last is a faggotting stitch. Together, the three stitches make a unique and beautiful shawl. The stitches, although they are Japanese, are easily learned by American knitters, especially those who love unique stitches. All symbols have been “translated” to the ones that most Western knitters are used to seeing.

The shawl is knit in a continuous pattern, which means it does not need any type of grafting or kitchener stitch to be symmetrical.

The pattern also contains instructions for an optional crocheted edging.

All stitches are both written out and charted.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of cable-lace knitting.)
Skill Level for the optional Edging: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of crocheting)

The shawl shown in the sample was made Sportmate in Key Largo.

The sample was expertly tested by Melody Meyers who can be reached at:simplytreasuresinc@yahoo.com
