7-page pattern with both charted and written instructions.

Effie is a lacy vest with subtle waist shaping which can be worn alone or over a blouse. The center of the vest and front neckline are accented with a rosebud lace pattern which flows out of the lace ribbing. It is constructed in one-piece to the armholes and is meant to be worn with little to no ease.

~ Originally called, Yvonne de Carlo and published by the now-defunct The Sanguine Gryphon, Effie is now available as a Paper Moon Knits pattern. ~

One of my favorite movies is the 1941 classic, “The Maltese Falcon.” Although it’s Sam Spade’s “show,” the bit part of Effie Perrine, his wise-cracking, loyal secretary, steals each scene she’s in. She has everyone pegged, can take dictation, hide a client (and a falcon), keep her mouth shut, and lives with her mother. Early on, Effie tells Sam,“ You worry me. You always think you know what you’re doing, but you’re too slick for your own good. Some day you’re going to find it out.” This smart, sophisticated vest is just right for her!
