This is my other egg cosy in the Norwegian technique called «Mor Astrups strikketeknikk» (Mother Astrup’s knitting technique). It’s an easy project if you want to try the technique, quite like mosaic knitting, working with one color at the time. But in Mor Astrup’s knitting technique, the color changes every row (not every second row as in mosaic knitting).

The pattern is obtained by slipping purled stitches in background color. Here, the background color is white.

Yarn left overs work great for this project. I used cotton, since this is a food cover. The egg cosy might shrink after laundering.

The pattern is not tested by others than me.
