Prounounced “ay-djeh”, éide is used in modern Irish to refer to clothing, found in phrases to describe everything from foreign costumes to military uniforms. In ancient times, however, it most often described armor worn to battle. The Eide Pullover is a bit of both, a gorgeous garment that will be the perfect armor against the cold.

This pullover is worked from the bottom up, knit flat in pieces before being sewn together. To finish, stitches are picked up and worked in short rows to make a shawl collar with an overlapping front.

Like the plates of a protective cuirass over a shirt of mail, the all-over cabling contrasts with the Moss Stitch sleeves, forming a thick, warm fabric. Gird yourself for Winter.
