Eira is a triangular shawl that begins with a triangle created by placing Yarn-Overs at the beginning of each row. The top of the triangle is bound off and the Yarn-Overs are then picked up and knit to create rest of the shawl.

The shawl incorporates the two-color reversible Stanton Brioche Stitch created by Nancy Marchant in her book, Knitting Brioche.

A thorough understanding of Brioche knitting is extremely helpful before attempting this modified Brioche stitch.
