The stitch pattern works best when using lace yarn or Seasilk.

This is a multi-size pattern worked sideways: Correct gauge is not essential for this project unless you are working with a limited quantity of yarn.
Measurements depend on the yardage used and how strongly you block the whole garment. Depending on the amount of yarn used, you can adjust size to your preference.
