There’s just something purely magical about this wonderful cabled hood that I just can’t quite put my finger on! It’s elegant, daring, chunky and sleek. It’s sure to keep you both warm and fashionable through the cold season.

This gorgeous cabled hood pattern is all in one piece and has a high ribbon-laced turtle-neck collar. It stays up on its own but for windy days you can use a hairpin to secure it without losing the generous silhouette.

The materials required are:

410 yards heavy worsted/Aran weight yarn
(to mimic this weight, use one strand worsted & one strand fingering yarn & hold as one)

1 1/2 to 1 2/3 yard 1” wide satin or grosgrain ribbon

Pair of 32” or longer 5.0mm (US size 8) circular knitting needles for magic loop or DPNs
Pair of 32” or longer 6.0mm (US size 10) circular knitting needles or DPNs

Cable needle
Tapestry needle
Five stitch markers
Optional: Extra needle or crochet hook for 3-needle bind off method

The pattern recommends the Kitchener’s stitch bind off but you may also do a seamed bind off
