This scarf can be knitted in both 4 ply or 8 ply on suggested needles or smaller to allow the cables to pop out. I based this scarf off a scarf from vogue knitting 2008. The centre pattern was found as a picture over the internet but with no instructions. It’s so lovely that I had to take time and reverse engineer it. However it turned out to be from a book of stitches by Annie Maloney! Please get the book to support the creator. :) Much easier than it looks, easily achieved with basic understanding of cable knitting. Not a short project, but definitely worth the effort.

The gauge is not very important, with 4 ply yarn it is about 13cm in width, and 15 repeats will reach approx. 150cm. I have not tried the pattern with 8 ply yarn yet but it should reach about 18cm in width and use about 6 50g balls with 5mm needles.

Edit: There was an error in row 2 chart 2, the correct version is up. 13/2/12
