The Elegant Leaves Accent Scarf is designed by Valerie Baber of Valerie Baber Designs just for you to warm your day with elegance and style. Inspired by the Leaves that adorn trees and plants with their beautiful colours flowing all around. Designed using fingerling/sock weight yarn perfect for most Seasons. Make it as a solid colour, use mini skeins to add a gradient or colourful effect to the scarf.

Yarn:
Gradient coloured scarf: To make the gradient style that goes from light to dark or whatever colour way you want to use you need 1 set of Party of Five mini skies or 5 mini skeins of similar weight and yardage. I used Party of Five Mini Skeins by SweetGeorgia Yarns (shown in the Tanzanite Colour of the blue to purple and the Gemstone Colour of the orange to pink 105 yd / 96 m per 1 oz / 28 g skein; 80% merino, 20% nylon, 5 skeins). Check that you work the same measurements I have listed making changes at your end as necessary.

Solid coloured scarf: Takes 2 skeins of Fingerling/sock weight yarn to make the solid coloured scarf (I used Tough Love Sock yarn by SweetGeorgia Yarns, 425 yd / 388 m per 4 oz / 115 g per skein; 80% merino, 20% nylon).

Finished Measurements:
35.25 inches, 89.50 cm long by 6.25 inches, 15.85 cm wide with trim

Tension: My tension for the base of the scarf was one leaf is 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) long, 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) wide.

Crochet Hook:
I used USA terminology for crochet stitches, US 0-1 H (2 to 2.25mm) hook for the fingerling/sock weight yarn. You may need to use one size up or down depending on your tension

Other supplies: Buttons, 2 of 7/8 inch or 22mm size buttons for WS of scarf. Yarn needle to sew in ends.
