Elephants are the largest animals that live on land, and they live for a very long time - often 70 years or more. They spend their days roaming in caring family groups, are intelligent and sensitive and have an impressive ability to learn and remember. This knitted elephant’s trunk, impressive tusks and intelligent face are a reminder of its huge relations roaming the African plains.

The pattern requires about 150g of DK in grey, and a scrap of DK in white for the tusks.

The pattern also suggests using 14mm (1/2 inch) toy safety eyes, but felt eyes or black stitches would also be appropriate.
