Going up? Or maybe down?

The arrangement of the chevrons in this stitch pattern make me think of the up and down arrows of elevator buttons. Or maybe I just don’t know which way I’m going!

This cute little beanie features a variation on the dotted chevron pattern. Extra warmth around the ears from a slipped stitch design that looks a bit like chain mail. No cold is getting through there!

  • Pattern includes written instructions for the brim, then written and charted instructions for the body and crown. Layout allows you to print out one or the other as you prefer.
  • Because the stitch pattern repeat is so wide, it’s really only possible to work the hat in the one size. You can attempt to make it bigger or smaller by changing the gauge and/or yarn.
  • I used the Russian or buttonhole cast-on. It’s stretchy and blends into the armor stitch well. Link to video is also in the pattern.
  • Sample shown used all but about 10 yards of the skein, so about 145 yards.
