Designed for fast-growing babies (but irresistible at all ages), this hat features a brim that can be folded up or down to allow more room as the wearer grows. It is offered in sizes to fit everyone from just born to large adult, with a choice of three interchangeable border patterns using different techniques – you won’t be able to stop at knitting just one!

The Pixi border is a twisted rib chevron stitch, offering great elasticity. Pippi is a simple lace chevron in a more romantic style, while Pumuckl’s garter stitch chevrons show off variegated yarns beautifully. Use up your sock yarn scraps (it accommodates stripes beautifully) or splurge on a gorgeous new skein to treat your noggin.
Note: Some knitters have found that the hat works up too large – if working the Pippi or Pumuckl borders, which don’t pull in as much, consider going down a size.
