An easy, one-skein project for that soft, squishy worsted weight yarn you just had to have. Solids, speckles, hand-paints, or gradients — this will be your go-to project when you want to create something truly hand-crafted for yourself or someone special.

Skill Level: Easy in-the-round
Required Skills: crochet cast on, knitting in-the-round on circular needles.
One size
Finished measurements: 11”/28cm width, 24”/61cm circumference
Gauge: 20 sts and 26 rows = 4”/10cm in stockinette stitch. Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect yardage and size of finished piece. It will be necessary to unravel gauge swatch and re-use the yarn. Take time to check gauge.
Materials:
Yarn: Worsted weight yarn, 210yds. Model shown in Malabrigo Washted (100% superwash merino wool, 210 yds per 100g), color # 749 Selva Peruana, 1 skein
Needles: US 8/5.0mm circular needle 16” or 24”, or size needed to obtain gauge
Crochet hook: size H/5.0mm (for crochet cast on)
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
2 locking stitch markers

Notes:
Project begins with a crochet cast on which is joined to work in the round. If you need help with this cast on, check out this video. Joining to work in the round is explained here. Although any cast on will do for this project, the crochet cast on is used because it mimics a standard bind off.
