Broomstick lace is one of those stitches that looks a lot harder than it actually is. Once you get into a rhythm, it is a quick and easy stitch to complete, with beautiful results. Working stitches in the back loop only adds texture and drape. The openness of the lace combined with the lighter weight yarn makes this hat wearable throughout several seasons. I dislike weaving in yarn ends so I have constructed this hat with as few yarn breaks as possible.
