Description of pattern: This simple slip stitch cowl was designed to make use of beautiful bits of hand painted yarn knit alongside a semi-solid yarn to turn the dissimilar colors into a beautifully harmonic accessory.

Ellis was designed to work with the Dinner Party series of yarns dyed by cjkoho Designs based on work by Judy Chicago celebrating the accomplishments of women in history. It is named for Ruth Ellis, a Michigan business woman who created a space in her home to welcome the disenfranchised and provide support and counsel to many not accepted by the world.

I think you’ll find that Ellis does for your hand-painted yarn, what Ruth Ellis did for the members of herneighborhood—elevate the individual and create a beautiful community.
