Elsie The Texture Teddy is perfect for older people who like to keep their hands busy. She is also perfect for babies and small children. Different stitches are used to give a lovely rippled and textured surface. Because Plush Baby Yarn is used, it is super soft! Different shaped buttons make for lots of interest. This is my teddy version of a twiddle muff.

There are a number of different stitch combinations that make up the different patterns on the teddy. To complete these stitch combinations, you will need to change the position of the yarn. For example, if you are told to (K1, P1, K1, P1): First knit one stitch. Then to purl the next stitch, you would take your yarn from the back to the front between your two needles. Purl the stitch. To knit the next stitch, you would take your yarn from the front to the back between your two needles. Knit the stitch. Then to purl the last stitch, you would take your yarn from the back to the front between your two needles again. Purl the stitch.
