The traveling and twisting cables of this hat reminds me of a winding waterway. “Elv’,’ therefore, is a Norwegian word for “river.” I have a love of twisted stitches, cables, and hats, so this hat is a combination of all of my favorites! It is a particularly stretchy pattern which is great for kids with growing heads as well as if you like a snug and cozy beanie, like me.

The pattern is both written and charted and they can be found at the end of the pattern. The hat is constructed from the bottom up and is finished with cabled twisted stitch decreases (my favorite!). Enjoy as is or with a fuzzy pom pom on top!
