Elytra is a sweater with a very special shape, inspired by the looks of a beetle. Basically it has an a-line shape, but the front is cropped, while the back is full length. Hence Elytra is perfect for layering. The pattern is worked seamless from the top down.

The insectoid appearence is completed by a simple lace pattern that is running down pointy sleeves. You can choose between long or short sleeves.

Knit this pattern up in a warm yarn for the cold seasons, or use a summery yarn like Schachenmayr’s Filara, which makes it perfect for chilly summer evenings.
In any case, this sweater will warm your back, but won’t overheat the body due to the open front.

Elytra’s body is designed with a bit of ease. You can go down a size or use smaller needles for a closer fit.
