It’s February - the month of love and happiness to celebrate the spirit of togetherness with your loved ones.

This scarf has a story. One day I woke up and realized, my daugher is so grown up and is flying out of our nest. In one way it’s good and on the other …. sad. My purpose was to give her a little mother’s touch and a hug to her soul when she is away, flying around in the big city and educating herself far away from our home. So she can feel I’m with her and support her no matter how far away she is, she can look at those hearts and pom poms and smile.

„Ema armastus“ means mother’s love in Estonian. The Ema Armastus scarf is completely reversible and has an elegant design which calls you to wrap yourself in it. In this beautiful scarf brioche stitches are used to make heart motifs, surrounded by two-color Brioche Garter Stitch. Pick your favorite colored or variagated yarn on one side with contrasting backround color on the other side. Scarf contains two identical parts and each part has 5 identical heart motifs. Both halves are worked from tips to the center. When you have reached the desired length, put this half to one side and repeat it all over again with second half. The two identical parts are joined in the center with Kitchener Stitch. The colorful pom poms are optional.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter who is familiar with two-color brioche knitting or an adventurous advanced beginner who wants to learn and includes both written and charted instructions with links to helpful tutorials.
