Ember is a lightweight, summery top knit from the top down and featuring a corrugated rib yoke for a little splash of colour; perfect for utilising your leftover sock yarn!

Ember can be knit in either fingering (4 ply) or Sport weight (5 ply) yarn and I recommend a soft wool (like merino) or a wool/ cotton blend.

The pattern is written for sizes 12 months to 10 years.
I suggest you choose a size based on your child’s actual chest measurement rather than age and knit extra length as desired for your childs size.

Age - Actual Chest Size - Meterage (approx)

12m - 19 inch/ 48cm - 175m
18m - 20 inch/ 50.5cm - 220m
2y - 21 inch/ 53cm - 260m
3y - 22 inch/ 56cm - 280m
4y - 23 inch/ 58.5cm - 300m
5y - 24 inch/ 61cm - 340m
6y - 25 inch/ 63.5cm - 360m
7y - 26 inch/ 66cm - 400m
8y - 27 inch/ 68.5cm - 460m
10y - 28 inch/ 71cm - 520m

Only a small amount of contrast colour is needed, under 10g.
