These emission spectra scarves depict your favorite elements in machine-knit glory. This was Amanda Wozniak’s idea, and Bryn Davies made an awesome spectra pattern generator python script so you can generate a pattern in your own gauge (especially helpful if you don’t have a knitting machine). Machine patterns for several elements have been generated and posted on the site.

The amount of each color used varies depending on the spectrum created, but generally the scarves use about 1.5 cones of Valley Yarns 8/2 cotton, which was the only reliable machine knitting yarn I could find in all the required colors for the rainbow spectra.
