“I may have lost my heart but not my self-control”

In 2013 I made the goal of designing one afghan square per month in honor of a different Jane Austen Character. September’s edition is that steady that witty heroine Emma.

This square is a slight departure from the previous editions in that I felt strongly that Emma needed a lace motif. I try very hard to think about the characters and what might best represent them in regards to stitch patterns and so Emma is slightly more delicate while possessing strong lines.
