Create a cute jumper for a favorite little one. A simple cable and stockinette pattern makes a great first garment project for a newer knitter.

The cable pattern is worked over three panels of 9 stitches on the front and back, with the remaining stitches worked in Stockinette Stitch. A 2x2 Rib trims the hem, neck, and armhole openings, ending with K2 where needed. The cable pattern continues up the shoulder straps. Work a gauge swatch over 21 sts, with the center 9 sts worked in the cable pattern for best results.
