A walk in THE DEEP DARK WOOD… or not :) depending on your interpretation of it: the colors you use, where you put dark & light colors, and which blocks are knit in the same color.
The chart is black & white, easy to color, and knit your own version.

Knit upward in st.st, with mixture of stranding, intarsia, and a border/windows pattern, that you can omit for an easy version.

Size: 60 sts & 120 rows.
Finished size depends on your yarn & needles:
Big needles + chunky yarn = an afghan.
Small needles + sock or dk yarn = small picture.

Examples US10/6mm = 18X28” (46X73cm).
US7/4.5mm = 14X 36X

Yarns/colors:
Road
Earth
Tree bark: 3 trees, boucle is a good choice.
Foliage: Variegated, fuzzy, hairy, anything you like. This part is a bit quilt like. The different blocks do not need to be same yarn, so it’s a good opportunity to use stash yarn.
Border/Windows: are optional. They can be knit in st.st or other st pattern of your choice (like garter).

Hope you enjoy it :)
