This pretty shawlette takes you on a walk through an English Country Garden. Starting with a garter tab, the shawlette is worked top-down using single-stitch cables/twisted stitches to lead you through a bed of eyelet flowers to an English Mesh Lace garden, and on to a gently scalloped edging. A central strip of leaf lace separates the two triangular side panels, creating a more gentle shape and avoiding a sharp point at the bottom of the shawlette.

After blocking, the finished shawlette measures approximately 14” deep and has a wingspan of about 35”. Pattern gauge is 10sts and 20 rows to 2”/5cm after blocking. Gauge is not vital but can affect the finished size of your work, and the yardage required.

The shawlette requires up to 325 yards/300m of fingering weight yarn, making it ideal for a single skein of sock yarn or similar.

The patterned sections are charted only.

You will need to: be able to work from charts, work yarn-overs, cross stitches (single-stitch cables), work basic increases and decreases.
