A glowing shawl with flames to enlighten you or perhaps your friend. The crescent shaped shawl drapes nicely over your shoulders or under your chin without extra bulk.

Knit the shawl in fingering / 4ply or lace weight yarn, and add sparkle if you wish. I let the burnt orange silk lace shine on its own, whereas the red shawl in fingering / 4ply yarn includes shimmering beads. Beads add not only sparkle, but also weight and drape.

The shawl is knitted in one piece from the outer lace edge to the upper edge with an i-cord bind off. The shawl gets its crescent shape by short rows with decreases in stocking stitch. The lace instructions are given both in writing and in chart.
