The 2015 Central Coast Summer Mystery KAL is solved!

This shawl is a tour of SLO via a 2-color shawl, inspired by beauty of the Central Coast of California.

The shawl is comprised of arches of garter stitch surrounding waves of lovely stitches - each one an homage to the beautiful features that the Central Coast has to offer.

The pre-order price of $5.00 has been held over until September 14th -the close date of the SLO Yarn Crawl.

To ~preemptively~ answer your questions:
◊The shawl is worked from the top down.
◊It requires 2 -100 gram skeins (approximately 400 yard per skein) of fingering weight yarn, 1 skein each of 2 highly contrasting colors.
You may choose either 2 solid/semi-solid/kettle-dyed yarns; or one solid and one tonal/lightly multi-colored yarn. The goal is to find 2 yarns that work well together, but are clearly from different worlds.
◊The shawl uses 2 colors of yarn, but you will only be using 1 yarn per row. NO carrying yarn, only one color to worry about at a time. :)
◊You are, of course, free to use any size yarn you like, worked on any size needle that gives you the finished look you love; please see the note below about gauge & yardage.
◊Gauge is given as a guideline, but please remember that if you knit loosely, or if you use a larger yarn &/or needle, it may result in a difference in the amount of yarn required. Please -please- purchase additional yarn to be safe.

This pattern is written with the adventurous beginner in mind, but it is curious enough to hold the interest of advanced knitters as well.
While there may be a few new-to-you stitches, the explanations are carefully worded and the entire pattern is designed to insure your success.

Last year’s KAL was such a wonderful experience, we just couldn’t wait to do it again.

A very special Thank you! to MizzEnroe. Without her patient, wonderful, loving help, this shawl would NEVER have been possible!
