Epidote, a buttoned cardigan, is worked seamlessly from the top down. First the back is worked to the underarm, using short rows to shape the shoulders. Then stitches for each front are picked up from the back cast-on and worked separately to the underarm, where they are joined with the back and worked back and forth to the hem. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes and sleeve caps are shaped using short rows.

Epidote features a wide lattice cable on the back and narrower lattices on the fronts as well as the sleeves. There are both written and charted directions for the cable pattern.
