I created this pattern after being challenged by a friend to create a snowflake with skulls on it. Being a knitter at heart, I had only just begun to crochet when I broke my hand and found myself in a cast. It may seem like a complicated pattern but take heart! I created this and made a whole army of them after crocheting for 1 month.

When I searched for a skullflake pattern, nothing I found truly suited my needs. I want to shout out to Maryetta Roy and her Lost Souls Shawl for the inspiration needed to get there. You need to check out her shawl pattern, it’s awesome!

No gauge needed! You can use thread or something thicker, though I believe snowflakes do better with a nice sturdy cotton thread in order to starch up well. This snowflake is large, about 9 to 10 inches in diameter. It would make a great candle doily as well.

Please do not reproduce this pattern for sale. Thanks.
