The first Official pattern of 2016’s KAL.
The 2016 theme is Botanics. The motif matched with Phydeaux’s Pine Bough colourway are a perfect combination to start our year off.

Espalier- tree or ornamental shrub whose branches are trained to grow flat against a wall, supported on a lattice or a framework of stakes.

I am currently trying to configure an apple tree fence that is beautiful ….and will survive the deer. It will take years, thankfully, these socks will not take that long! Once the small chart repeat is done, you could even watch a movie while knitting the majority of the sock.

BOTH Chart and Written instructions are included.

Some excellent espalier examples can be shown here:

Note: after the gusset there are 4 sizes listed to accomodate a 7-7.5” foot circumference.

ERRATA: a few typos made it thru in the first edition
Heel Flap- there are only 2 rows. The 2-4 notation was a mistake.
Foot- The end of the foot should have said knit 2 2, 2, 3 plain rounds before starting the toe. 23 is obviously a mistake. :) Yikes! what a long foot that would have made!

The corrected pdf says 1-12-16
