A charming little cardigan with just a bit of decoration. Starting with a lace yoke and ending with a pretty rib, this mainly Stockinette cardigan is a quick knit. Estelle means star making it the perfect name because the lace emblems reminds me a stars with purl tails. I used the new Shibui yarn Birch! It is very soft with a delicate halo, altogether lovely!

I have also designed a pullover with the same lace pattern in the shape of a v that is here! If you have already purchased Estelle or Estelle pullover you can get the other one for 50% off! Or if you buy both at the same time you can get the second one for 50% off!! No coupon needed.

Shibui Knits Birch, 100% extra fine merino; 262 yds/239 m per 50g skein; color Tango, 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7) skeins, 695 (790, 900, 975, 1100, 1165, 1255, 1345, 1560, 1560, 1655) yds/640 (725, 825, 895, 1010, 1070, 1150, 1230, 1335, 1430, 1515) m.

Needles: Size 4/3.5mm 24”/60 cm (or longer) circular needle and set of 4 or 5 double-pointed needles.
Other: Stitch markers (6), stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle, 9 to 15 ½-inch/13mm buttons.
Gauge: 20 sts and 30 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette Stitch.

Notes:
This rounded yoke cardigan is constructed from the top down in one piece with raglan increases to shape the bodice. To create a flattering fit, there are short rows to shape the back neckline higher than the front.
There is no body shaping, but waist shaping can be added - just note that a multiple of 3 stitches plus 1 is needed between the Button Bands for the bottom ribbing.
The length of the body and sleeves can be easily adjusted.
The buttonhole and button bands are worked as part of the body of the cardigan. The buttonholes are the yo’s in the buttonhole band so you may use as many buttons as you desire. I placed the buttons every other buttonhole.
Hold 1 strand of each yarn together throughout pattern. A DK weight yarn may be used in place of two fingering weight yarns.
