This hat was inspired by Knittergized’s hat on Ravelry. The motif comes from Estonian Socks in the book Folk Socks, and the braid is a technique common to knitting around the Baltic Sea. The top, as knit, is flat.

The hat uses odds and ends of sportweight yarn, and has been test knit using Sandnes Garn Tove, Rauma Finullgarn, Brown Sheep Naturespun Sport, and Blue Skyp Alpacas Sportweight. The chart calls for four colors.
