Eva's pixie hat
I live close to the wilderness in a place where it rains 100 inches a year. There are lots of different mosses, lichens and ferns. It’s a perfect place for pixies, fairies and little kids romping in the woods. This hat was inspired by the setting I see when I look out my window while knitting hats!
I made several of these pixie hats for my little girl, and people literally stop us on the streets to ask who made the hat and where we got the pattern.
Well, here it is!
It calls for bulky yarn (3 stitches = 1 inch), and I knit one of these in one hour! So it’s a fast and very easy hat to make.
The hat is very stretchy and fits babies 6-12 months old, as well as toddler to preschoolers up to 3 years. It can easily be modified by changing yarn weight and needle sizes.
