Beautiful and simple fingerless mitts to knit as last minute holiday gifts. They’re not only practical, but very pretty and super warm. The angora makes them soft as a cloud. One skein is all you need for a pair, if you follow the directions very carefully.

NOTE:

See my book/ebook, “Sleepy Eyes Knits: Dreamscape”, for more beautiful and antiqued versions of these pictures.

I updated the pattern to a pdf on January 16, 2007…mistakes corrected and alternate ribbing for the top and bottom of the mitts.

Correction: 3/08…when doing the very last cable cross at the top of each mitt, it should be to hold the needle to the FRONT, not the BACK.

Correction: 12/10…on Round 36, the wording should read:

(for left hand)
“P3, K4, then using cable needle, place 4 sts on this needle and hold to the FRONT of the work, knit the next 4 sts, knit the 4 sts from the cable needle, P3, K11….”

(for right hand)
“P3, K4, then using the cable needle, place 4 sts on this needle and hold to the FRONT of the work, knit the next 4 sts, knit the 4 sts from the cable needle, P3.”

Correction 3/6/12:

On Round 12 of the Left Hand, it should say “P3, k4, and then using cable needle, place 4 sts on this needle and hold to the FRONT of the work, knit the next 4 sts, knit the 4 sts of the cable needle, p3, k18” (the bold part is what was missing)
