The Spanish have a tradition of going for an evening stroll or “paseo.” Families stroll with young children, lovers walk hand in hand, and young people flirt with each other as everyone is walking and talking, trying to see each other and be seen. Even though it is just an evening stroll, one tries to look one’s best. Knitted in a colorful hand dyed rayon metallic yarn, this little shawlette would be perfect for a paseo in Madrid or Barcelona, or an evening out wherever you may be.

This pattern was designed to use 1 skein of Blue Heron Rayon Metallic (550 yds) to maximum effect. Pattern is of intermediate difficulty, requiring ability to read charts and knit lace. A picot bind off was used, which uses more yarn than a traditional bind off. I had 19 yards left after binding off. I realize that might make some people nervous about having enough yarn. I provide suggestions for modifying the bind off should you find yourself running a bit short. This is a great one skein project.
