This design was inspired by the beautiful deep blues and purples of airport runway lights at night. The triangular shawl is knit primarily in stockinette stitch with garter stitch ridges to accentuate the lines leading to the central panel.

Beading is done along the center line and on the border to create the illusion of evening runway lights. The shawl uses one main color (MC) for the central panel and one contrasting color (CC) for the two side panels, with (optional) beading to achieve the “landing lights.” The shawl can be worked in these colors or any of your favorite color combinations.

Proceeds from my patterns go to local animal rescue centers.
