This is a pretty simple and straight-forward pattern.

The instructions are written only, as a chart really isn’t necessary. It’s pretty easy to memorize, and you probably won’t have to look at it again until you’ve gotten to the decreases.

You will need to be able to knit cables and knit in the round. I used a US size 2, but I might be a tight knitter. The pattern was test knit and some used a US size 1 to get gauge.

Just about any fingering weight yarn will do just fine. Approximately 180 yards are used for one adult male hat.
