Everything After August is a toe-up cabled sock pattern with the choice of two different heels (an afterthought heel, or a backwards heel flap).

If you’ve seen the 2009 Afghan from Hanks Yarn & Fiber, this stitch pattern might look familiar… it’s from the August square, and was by far the favorite pattern from customers at the yarn store who knitted along that year. Obsessively, we talked about what else we could use those gorgeous cables in, and of course socks were high in the running. Finally, here are those socks!

Whether you knew of the Afghan or not, you, too, will become obsessed with the ease of these cables. You’ll be delighted how they play with and meet up with each other, and if you’re a cabled sock fanatic you’ll be glad to know that these are mighty stretchy, for cables.

Cables don’t always lend themselves to pattern changes. If you’re looking to fit a larger foot than what the pattern is written for, due to the ribbed nature of the sock anyone looking to up the stitch count could easily add more purl stitches in between the cables.

The chart, and written instructions for those not into charts, follows at the end of the instructions, for easy printing.
