When I found out a co-worker was expecting I decided to design and make a baby blanket for her. Sadly she miscarried the baby so the name of the blanket became Eve’s Angel. I think I will give her the afghan to let her know I care ♥

This afghan is a nice, simple lace pattern that would work well for baby boys or girls. It is not too feminine. The pattern is easy to memorize and works up quite quickly! It is pretty enough to be a christening blanket, but can be used for everyday loving as well!

Any yarn and gauge can be used; the size can easily be altered to fit by changing the number of repeats of the pattern. I would, however, recommend a machine washable yarn as a baby blanket could be soiled at times. The sample I made and will give to Eve was knit using worsted weight yarn and was lightly steam blocked to open up the lace. It actually looked pretty nice without blocking too!

Gauge is 14 stitches and 17 rows = 4 inches square (in pattern)

Finished size:
25.5 x 37.5 unblocked
31 x 43 lightly blocked
