Inspired by layers of extra frosting that decorate a birthday
cake, these fun socks feature perfectly ruched ankles, thanks
to several columns of slip stitches. The fun details in this
design are highlighted by this visually complex yarn.

These top-down socks begin with a German Twisted Cast
On followed by 1x1 Rib for the cuff. The super-easy ruched
pattern for the ankle is next, followed by the slip stitch heel
flap, turned heel and gusset. The columns of slip stitches
morph into knit-2 ridges against the purled background on
the top of the instep. The heel, sole and toe of sock are all
smooth Stockinette Stitch.
