This is not a full pattern, but just basic instructions. This scarf sweater is so simple - it’s just a long rectangle like a scarf, wrapped around the body and seamed in 2 places.

You can use any weight of yarn and an appropriate hook to make this, and any stitch pattern you want! For my sample, I used worsted weight yarn (Bernat Satin, less than 3 skeins to make a size Small), an H hook, and an eyelet ripple stitch pattern.

The instructions on my blog just explain briefly how to crochet the right size for yourself (a measure as you go method) and assemble the sweater from the scarf.

Updated: the instructions now include my eyelet ripple stitch pattern, with stitch diagram and written instructions :)

Note: This pattern is Donationware - the pattern is available for free, but if you like it please consider sending me a donation to show your appreciation. The PDF version, available for any size donation, is formatted for easy viewing and printing, and includes additional assembly photos and bonus instructions with an easy method to get yourself into the completed scarf sweater! The complete pattern is available to view in full (for no charge) from the linked page.
