This sock design was not inspired by lofty architecture or kitten-eyed cats, but (like many cats) appeared to greet me when I sat down to play with yarn.

Fading Kitties is part of Choose Your Own Catsock Adventure 2 - a mix-n-match collection of eight cat-scattered sock patterns with lots of heel and toe options to help you get your perfect - and perfectly-fitting - catsocks.

The socks are all worked top-down, and come with instructions for short-row, flap and gusset and afterthought heels, and wedge, round and colourwork toes.

There are five sizes, from 14.75cm to 26.5cm foot circumferences, with guidance for getting the perfect fit and for making longer and shorter socks.

Apologies for the sock-in-progress on display here. The original sock managed to avoid being blocked with the others. I last-minute blocked it and left it overnight to dry. My terrible horrible adorable cat was unable to resist the lure of damp wool and I woke to a very mangled sock, and a very unrepentant cat.
DK socks are a quick knit, it’s true, but not quite instant. Hopefully there’s enough here to give you a flavour of it. I’ll upload a completes sock shot once I feel that the unrepentant cat’s had enough catshaming.
