Welcome the next installment of the TBK Love My Stash pattern series; inspired by working with yarns in my stash to create fun, wearable and unique to your style pieces to join your hand knit wardrobe. The body of the sweater is knit holding 2 strands of Mohair together, to create a cozy yet very lightweight sweater (did someone say new favorite travel sweater?!?) I love all the versions knit by test knitters so if you need some inspiration be sure to take a peek at their projects! Happy stash diving!

Yarn
Ritual Dyes Fae Mohair Lace 459 yards/ 50g 70/30 Kid Mohair/ silk
Ritual Dyes Maven Fingering Weight yarn (100% Rambouillet Wool 2 Ply Fingering weight) 265 yards/50g

TOTAL YARDAGE NEEDED: 1440 (1515, 1760, 1880) (2000, 2140, 2280) (2400, 2480, 2720) yards (taking into account that yarns are held double; if you are substituting yarn with a heavier weight and hold it single, you will need approximately HALF this yardage.

Yardage Breakdown for Sample Shown:
To calculate the approximate yardage for a color block pattern similar to the sample show you will need to calculate the yardage based on the approximation of total yardage below.
Yarn A Ritual Dyes Maven (Fingering Weight yarn) shown in Dune 35 g  225 yards; approximately 15% of total yardage.
Yarn B1 Ritual Dyes Fae (Mohair Lace weight yarn) shown in Dune 41 g  450 yards; approximately 30% of total yardage.
Yarn B2 Ritual Dyes Fae (Mohair Lace weight yarn) shown in Clay 76 g  840 yards; approximately 55% of total yardage.

Yarns A & B1 are held together for the collar ribbing, then Yarn B1 is held double, then Yarn B2 is held double through the body, yarns A and B2 are held together for the cuffs.
This was a stash buster for me, so I knit with Yarn B1 until I ran out, then switched to Yarn B2 for the rest of the body.
This is a great stash busting pattern, so feel free to play around with yarn substitutions, as long as you check your gauge! A good starting point for yarn substitutions is that you will need a Sport weight equivalent for the collar and cuffs and a Fingering weight equivalent for the body and sleeves.
You can color block, stripe, or just knit the body in a solid color, let your inner creative (and stash) come alive! For my version I changed colors after separating the body and the sleeves.
