High towards the sky rises the striving branches of the ancient woods of Tiveden. A soft summer breeze tickles the green vegetation, carrying the sticky scent of resin and earth. Covering the ground is a thick layer of yellow pine needles, which muffles the sound of hurried steps.
A tall figure makes her way through the dense underbrush. Her long gown is, every now and then, caught by twigs and branches, as she strives to continue deeper into the heart of Tiveden. She crosses mossy boulders, leaps over fallen trees, all the while her eyes searching for a sign of the winding trail her grandmother once spoke of. Just when she is about to give up, the forest grows slightly sparser and sunlight can be seen trickling through the branches above.
She rushes to the small trail that can be glimpsed a few feet ahead of her, not caring about the twigs pulling at her long hair. As her feet finally find the winding path, the forest opens into a large glade around her. She finds herself standing at the edge of a small lake, which reflects the warm light of the afternoon sun. Her breath is caught in her throat as she spots them. There, floating in the calm water, grow beautiful water lilies in deep shades of red. She has found the true wonder of Tiveden, just as breathtaking as her grandmother once described.

The cowl is designed to fit loosely round the neck.

Cowl circumference: 60 cm / 23.75”

Cowl depth: 45 cm / 17.75”

Gauge

I recommend knitting a swatch to make sure your gauge is correct. Otherwise, your cowl may have different measurements and can use up more yarn than defined in this pattern.
