Fair and Squares Hat is a great first Fair Isle hat and boot topper set. Knit in fingering weight yarn, it starts with a riff on corrugated rib and is followed by a very traditional Fair Isle motif.

Finished with a simple windowpane plaid that seamlessly shrinks as the hat tapers to a slouchy tip.

Instructions for 4 sizes: Infant, Child, Small Adult(shown), Adult.

Coordinating Boot Toppers are a quick and simple project that will let plain old leather or rubber boots make a real fashion statement!
Instructions for 3 sizes, largest size shown.

And, it’s all easy to do. Many knitters are afraid of stranded knitting, but it’s much simpler than it looks. These projects require no “carries”, there are never more than 5 sts in a row in a single color, so are true “starter projects.”**
