This classic Fair Isle cardigan graces the cover of the book and was inspired by the colors of late winter.

  • Shown in one size, the designer suggests that alterations may be made by using partial mirror image repeats on either side of the center front. Length alterations can be made by omitting a repeat of one of the patterns or by changing the length of the ribbing.
  • Knit in six colors: 900 yards of natural black, 450 yards each of honey beige, heather and oatmeal and 300 yards of moorit and ghillie green. Note that the pattern refers to 1 oz skeins. The yarn is currently available in 25 gram skeins.
  • The sweater is knit in the round and steeked. Charts are provided for the Fair Isle motifs.
  • Circular and double pointed needles are required as are stitch holders. Ten buttons are needed.
