These little socks are perfect for sauntering down trails, meandering along streams, and wondering through the woods. Whether you are laying on a blanket of moss staring up at the forest canopy, or sitting by a camp fire sipping cocoa these socks are sure to bring a smile to every adventurer with a touch of wanderlust.

Needles:
40” circs US size 1 or 2 depending gauge.

Yarn:
Fingering weight sock yarn of your fiber choice. I suggest a wool, nylon blend for durability.

You will need two colors, one light and one dark for best results.

Yardage will depend on foot size. I have small feet and one ball of each shade is enough for me for height shown. If you have larger feet you may need 2 balls of the lighter color. Follow the yardage requirements typically needed to knit socks in your foot size.

Gauge:
Roughly 14 stitches to 2 inches wide and 16 rows to 2 inches high.

Notions:
2 stitch markers, or scrap yarn, to mark center of heel.
Crochet hook in small size or tapestry needle to work in ends.

Sizes:
Women’s XS, S, M and L

The photos in this pattern show a size XS.

Using this method http://heidibearscreative.blogspot.com/2011/10/two-socks-… we will be working two at a time toe up socks.

I recommend using Judy’s magic cast on. Here is a good video for Judy’s magic cast on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkyd3nq3Yn8

I recommend using Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off. Here is a good step by step on how to do Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off in rib. http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/FEATjssbo.php
