Knitted pants are, for whatever reason, not really A Thing. I don’t know why not; they’re no scarier to make than a raglan-sleeved pullover, they’re lovely and warm, and the patterning possibilities are endless! These pants are written for calf-length lounge pants, but if the mood strikes you, make shorts, Bermuda shorts, or full-length pants. Use all of the colors or pare down the chart to just two colors. Skip the color work entirely and just make plain pants! So many possibilities!

Bodies are all different. Please, please, please measure yourself and make adjustments to the crotch depth if needed! (I am happy to help if you need it.) A saggy crotch is no one’s friend. Measurements are given in the schematic for crotch depth, which is the length from the bottom of the waistband to the center of the crotch. Take this measurement on yourself. The top of the waistband should hit about 2 inches below the belly button, so measure down 1.75 inches from there (the length of the waistband), then take your measurement to the center of your crotch. If this number is significantly different than the schematic, you will need to do some adjustments: If your number is a lot larger, then work the hip increases farther apart than the pattern calls for (for example, if the pattern says to work the increases every 5th round, then you will beed to work the increases every 6th or 7th round instead). If your number is a lot smaller, then work the hip increases closer together. You can also adjust the pants when you cast on for the legs by casting on more or fewer stitches.
