“Spring Ahead” and “Fall Back” were the sayings I used to remember which way to turn my clock when we went on/off daylight savings time as a child. I especially liked the idea of falling back in the fall; it implied falling back into the familiar routines I craved after a long summer vacation. Not surprisingly, I look forward to “falling back” as an adult as well. I love the cool mornings that warm up into summery days in the early fall as well as the crispness and chilliness of late fall. I designed this sweater coat with the comforts of fall in mind: wide fronts to wrap around yourself during a cool morning walk, and a tall collar to keep the evening chill away. I added the horseshoe cable at the underarms for a simple detail and a little something to distract from all that stockinette.
