With fall come the brightly coloured leaves that scatter over the winter-ready ground. Here a simple “Cross” pattern, the most basic of the common Latvian motifs, is set against a somber background of dark green.

With its two straight intersecting lines, the Cross is a symbol that joins heaven and earth, the material with the spiritual. Latvians regard it as a protective symbol which brings light and luck, a fitting emblem as we enter the darkest season of the year.

Choose your own autumnal hues to work this sock of varied tones.

The sizes offered can serve the whole family from a Child’s Large to Man’s Large. For a snug fitting sock, allow for a negative ease of about 2.5 cm./1 in. in the Foot circumference when choosing your size.
